U.R.Y.-You are Why:

This is our combined youth night and we meet weekly (except School Holidays) on a Tuesday Night from 7.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. All children from Grade 5 (Connections) to late teens come together to have some fun and fellowship. We run a rotating program which incorporates discipleship, activities and Theme nights.

Each year our URY group commences the year with a great camp. The camp is a time for all our youth to get to know one another, have some fun with the leaders and this is also where we introduce our Theme of the Year. Each year we choose a theme (such as Mission work) and each group decides how best to complete some project/community work to match the theme.

We have outings on a regular basis and each week we have supper and games together.

Our youth are a close knit of teens and welcome new members to their group with heartfelt warmth. We have a variety of leaders, both male and female, young and old and this brings a sense of closeness and commitment to URY.

We have a "Warm Fuzzy" board with everyone's name and we endeavour to encourage each other with small notes and gifts as part of our ministry to each other.

We also have prayer partners for all the leaders and the Year 12 students receive special attention during exam time.

URY, Connections and Sunday School always put on a Christmas Musical at the beginning of December and this is a highlight for our budding actors and singers. We have many talented youth and we love to encourage all members to participate in some way be it backdrops, costumes, lighting, sound or directing.

Connections is a part of the URY group that meets on Tuesday nights but runs a program suitable for boys and girls in grades 5 and 6. We participate in the opening, games and supper with the URY team, but we allow for age appropriate activities.

Each year we make Mothers Day and Fathers Day crafts and visit the Hostel next door to the church. We encourage our seniors with cards and letters and also participate in the camp.
